Es Bol Nou
This beach is located halfway between Ibiza and San Josep, about 10 km away from both municipalities. The easiest way to get there is from Ibiza, taking the airport road. When you are about to reach the airport, turn right towards Cala Jondal. After about four kilometres of road in not very good condition you will find a turn-off to Sa Caleta to reach the car park.
Bol Nou is an enclosed bay with two beach areas of about 100 metres each and an average width of 8 metres. The beaches are made up of fine sand with many rocks. A few metres from the shore the depth increases considerably, which is why caution should be exercised when bathing. On the beach you will find umbrellas and sunbeds, as well as bars, restaurants and the odd hippie clothing stall.
We must be careful as there are two coves with this name on the island, one in San Josep de Sa Talaia and the other in Santa Eulalia. In addition, in Sa Caleta de San Josep there is another cove very close by with the same name, exclusively for fishermen, with a dry seaweed floor, unsuitable for bathing and full of fishing huts.
